Santa and Elf Tinsel at the glowing Big Map of Everywhere, with two gold stars over a little townTwo stars

On Christmas Eve, at the very top of the world, Santa unrolled his Big Map of Everywhere. Millions of tiny lights twinkled across it, one for every child waiting for Christmas.

Elf Tinsel ran her finger across the map and stopped at Bristol, then again at Manchester. “Santa,” she said, frowning, “Maya has two stars. Is that a mistake?”

…

Maya snuggled on the sofa between Mummy and Jess, with Biscuit and Pepper the dogs curled up on their laps, in their cosy red living roomThe first home

Santa opened his big red notebook. “At Mummy’s house,” he read, “there’s Mummy, Jess, and two dogs, Biscuit and Pepper. And the best bit? Film nights snuggled on the sofa.”

The elves nodded very seriously and fetched the sparkliest ribbon they had.

“And at Daddy’s house,” Santa went on, “there’s Daddy, Hannah and baby Leo. And the best bit? Cosy cuddles with Leo on the sofa.”

The reindeer listened carefully and learned both addresses by heart. Rudolph even practised the turn into each street, twice.

At Mummy’s house, everything was still. Maya was fast asleep, with Pup tucked under one arm.

Santa crept in on tiptoe. He filled her stocking to the very top and placed a shining silver star beside the tree, with a tag that read: For Maya.

On Christmas morning, Maya woke to a bulging stocking. Beside the tree, the silver star sparkled. Tied to it was a note in curly golden handwriting: There’s another one waiting for you.

When Maya opened the front door at Daddy’s house, there it was: a second silver star, and a parcel with her name on it.

“Santa came here too!”

Now there’s a silver star on each tree, and both of them belong to Maya.

Two front doors. Two Christmases. One Maya, loved in both homes.

Dear Maya,

I have been keeping an eye on you from the North Pole, and I was so proud when you became such a kind and caring big sister.

How it works

  1. 1

    Tell us about them

Their name, their look, and what they call the grown-up at each home. It takes about five minutes.

  2. 2

    See them on the cover

Tap once and your child turns around on the cover, drawn just as you described. Free, before you decide.

  3. 3

    Meet the characters

After you order, we draw everyone first: your child, both homes, even the pets. Check they look right, and we’ll redraw anyone who doesn’t.

  4. 4

Read it, then we print it

We draw the whole book with your approved characters. Ask for up to three rounds of changes. Nothing is printed until you approve it.

Both homes, equally loved

  • Each home gets the same number of pages and the same warmth.
  • Both are homes, named by your child’s own word for each grown-up.
  • No reasons, no sadness, no blame. Just two Christmases.
  • You choose which home comes first in the story.

“Two front doors. Two Christmases. One child, loved in both homes.”

Questions

Who is this book for?

Children aged 2 to 12 who have two homes at Christmas. That could be mum and dad, two mums, two dads, or a parent and a grandparent. Any combination works.

Can I read it before it’s printed?

Yes. You get a private link to read the finished book. Before that, you’ll meet the characters and can ask us to redraw anyone who doesn’t look right. Then you can ask for up to three rounds of changes, such as pictures redrawn or words changed, before you approve it for printing.

Will it arrive before Christmas?

Printed books are usually made and posted within about 5 to 6 days of your approval. We’ll publish our last order dates for Christmas delivery in November.

Can the other home add a message?

Yes. There’s a dedication page for each home. You can write yours, and invite the other home to add theirs with a private link.

Do I need to upload a photo?

No, and we never ask for one. You choose their skin tone, hair, eyes and little details like glasses or freckles, and we draw their character from that.
